Wow!
I had no idea until just a couple days ago that it's been a YEAR since I've posted anything to this blog! Not cool! I've decided it's time to fire up the keyboard and start posting again, hopefully on a more regular basis, like in the past.
With that said, I'll start right now with where I left off last year, wishing everyone and their family and friends a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Playing "Tag" & "Connect the Dots" @ the Same Time

The title of this post may, understandably, confuse you. Read on though, and hopefully you'll see where this writing leads, and how you can play "tag" and "connect the dots" all at the same time.
As kids, we've all played "Tag" at least once. The game where one person is "It", and chases the other players around. If the designated person "tags", (touches), a player, that person is out for the rest of that round. Or in another version, the tagged person is the new "It", and play continues.
Either way, as stated, it's a game that kids everywhere play at one time or another.
As we age, we begin noticing other types of tag, like price tags. This theory leads us to "Dot 2" of our connect the dot game.
We become aware of material things we want, and need, and what it costs to have these things. Price tags, of course, are a way of telling prices, and if we can afford the item or not.
No matter the size, shape, or color, if there's something that shows the price of an object, it's a price tag.
One of the items that usually comes with a price tag is paint.
There are 101 uses, at least, for paint, and probably as many, or more, types, colors and prices of that paint. The type of paint most associated with "tag" however, is probably spray paint. If you're still following along, we've reached "Dot 3".
What used to be called "graffiti", is now referred to as "tagging". It's still basically the same graffiti that's been around for eons, though over the years there have been cases where the paintings have become quite elaborate. With this change came the name change of the art to "tagging."
Like graffiti, tagging is usually done on the sides of buildings, railroad cars, overpasses, and wherever the tagger is able to get to, to create their unique art. Some of these designs can be very elaborate and beautiful; it's just too bad it's usually done in places it's not supposed to be. That's a subject for another time though; on to "Dot 4".
"Dot 4" is the sole reason I've written this post.
In social media, blogs, etc., "tagging" means to label something with key words. These words will help others find your musings when searching for things on the internet. For example, if something has been tagged with the word "hippopotamus", and someone does a search using that word, anything tagged with the word "hippopotamus" should come up in the person's search. At least that's how *I* understand it to be!
This discovery has lead me to going back through all 293
posts, and tagging each one, (no matter how big or small the post), with as
many keywords as possible.
Along this new journey, I’ve learned how much I’ve written about the weather and that I sometimes repeat things in a different way.
I’ve also refreshed my memory on some of the posts I’d forgotten about.
The bright side? I guess that would be there
aren’t more posts to go back through; STILL working on back tagging! Also good: I’ve been tagging the most recent posts as soon as
they’re written.
Sometimes even things that can be embarrassing, one needs to
share with others, because even though it’s a stupid thing, it is kind of
funny.
Still not sure how "tag" and "connect the dots", can be done at the same time? Me either; but the thought sounded good in my head, so I wrote this post. The game, "tag", is what I thought of in addition to tagging; things just kind of spiraled from that to "connect the dots", and so on. As I explain it, it's just how my brain malfunctions. ((SMILE))
Rather than just delete this post, I decided to share it with readers anyway. Maybe someone out there will help figure the connection out!

Where Oh Where Has My Little Blog Gone?!
(Today's word will be in red and bold.)
If anyone is reading this post, I'm guessing the issue has been resolved.
You see, I went in to write a post Saturday, and I couldn't find my blog! I couldn't even find the "Extras" icon on KUPL's website.
Not knowing whether it was the site, or my computer, I was left to find another way to make a post; which I was able to do, and did.
Got to work Monday, tried finding my blog on my work computer, both through Explorer and Google Chrome. Both times the "Extras" icon came up, but not where it belongs, and not listing everything under it's heading; I have Firefox at home.
After trying to find my blog on KUPL's site three different ways, I decided it wasn't me, for once! No need for me to say "OOPS!" this time; yay!
So again, if you're reading this post, the issue must be resolved. And if you're not reading this, well then, I guess you know there's a problem!

I'm Totally Kidding!!!
Wow! I just had an eye opener today!
Right now there's a lot going on, there's some stress, etc., and it's made me a bit cranky. I know it, I know why, and I know by the end of the weekend a lot of things will be taken care of and I'll be fine.
Until then however, I'm trying my best NOT to be cranky; though it's not always working...sigh...
I have a great lead/co-worker though, Greg Baker, who tells things as they are. He said it's okay to be cranky; however, if I keep it up, he'll start making fun of me, and he will! Not in a mean way, but he will.
I replied back, "that's okay, I'll just write a blog about you", and smiled. Greg's comeback was, "make fun of Nola, she'll write a blog about you"!
In that split second I had a thought and repeated it: Yeah, I'm the Taylor Swift of blogging; cross me and I'll write about you!
It made Greg laugh, and me too; though not necessarily for the same reason. *My* laughter was due to the second thought I had; which I kept to myself until now: Yep, Taylor, tall, long blonde hair, thin and young, writing about romance gone bad. Me, short, short brown hair, very round and old, blogging about co-workers giving me a bad time!
Thank you Greg, without either of us knowing it, you helped the crankiness some.

A Moment of Panic!
(Today's word will be in ALL CAPS, BOLD, ITALIC, and STRIKETHROUGH.)
This has been kind of an "off" week for me. First, I wasn't at work for two days. That meant Monday I almost forgot I needed a blog for Tuesday. Remembered in enough time to get one written, thank goodness!
Then, I was back at work on Wednesday, though it felt like a Monday. I at least remembered that I needed a blog for Thursday, so not a problem with that.
I get home from work, still thinking about what to write a post about. I actually had a couple ideas, just hadn't decided which one to do.
I go out to KUPL's website, as usual; go to click on theWATCH tab and it's not there! ACK!!! This changes everything! How can I have a post with a word for the day, if I don't have a blog?!
I click on the word "photo", no blog, just photos and videos. Where oh where has my blog gone?! Got a bit panicky for a moment, then I found it! My blog is now hiding under the "Extras" tab at the top of KUPL's website.
Whew! I thought I no longer had a blog and no one told me! I can breath again! And I have a post for today, and can save my other ones for another day. Yay!

WORDS, WORDS, WORDS
Until last April, I'd never written a blog in my life; I'm finding I like it. I like being able to write out my WORDS and whatnot, then find pictures or video to accompany them. I've learned that pictures and video make a blog more interesting, rather than just having a lot of WORDS.
It's also fun to be able to track where the blog is being seen. I never even thought before now just how many countries people may be in that look at this blog. It's kind of cool.
I also like that I can write as much or as little as I want, about anything I want to write about. WORDS are there for the using any time I need them.
By now you've probably noticed a couple of things about this latest blog. One, there are no pictures, (this one time is the exception to the rule.) Two, every time the word "WORDS" appears in this blog, it's in all caps and red. There's a good explanation for this. Starting now, every Tuesday and Thursday, KUPL Nation members can come to this blog to find a word that will be worth a certain amount of points.
Every Tuesday and Thursday, look for the red word in all caps; that will be the word you're looking for to get your KUPL Nation points.
I'll end this blog of all WORDS and no pictures now. Please keep checking in, as there will be blogs posted at any time; and definitely check here Tuesdays and Thursdays to get your KUPL Nation word.
Thanks and happy reading!
